About the team.
Track was at the back of the Black Lion Hotel, High Street, Plaistow, this being owned by Mr A.W. Clarke, father of Cycle Speedway and Speedway Riders Pat & Colin Clarke.
The track was built over old tennis courts/bowling green, by Harry Eyre, Vic & Lou Dale, Ray Black and "Bomber" Brown.
Harry Eyre was tragically killed at West Ham Speedway in 1953, whilst racing in a novices race.

Club Secretary: T. Archer, 103 London Road, E13.
Beckton Aces moved from their track to the Black Lion, and became the Black Lion Monarchs in 1947.
Raced in the East London League Div 3 1950.
Raced in the East London League Div 2 1951.
Raced in the East London League Div 1 1952(coming runners-up).
Raced in the East London League Div 1 1953.
B. Cattano was Essex County Champion in 1952.
